Here is Dr. Snodgrass’ very first publication. Even as a young resident in urology, Dr. Snodgrass was searching for ways to improve the aesthetics of hypospadias repair. Before he developed the TIP technique (Snodgrass hypospadias repair), skin would be used in the hypospadias repair that left an usual defect in the penile skin that was unsightly and difficult to close. This article reports a modification to skin management that improved upon the techniques used at the time. Such skin management is no longer necessary because of the development of TIP.
