COVID TESTING
In accordance with current recommended guidelines, the Hypospadias Specialty Center and PARC Surgical Center will no longer require preoperative COVID 19 screening tests for patients and family members who have no symptoms of illness, regardless of their vaccination
status.
Patients and family members who have active symptoms, including but not limited to fever, cough, or shortness of breath, will still need appropriate testing before entering the facility. Those with symptoms who are scheduled for surgery will be advised by our staff on a case-by-case basis whether they should have a PCR or an antigen rapid test. Please let our staff know as soon as possible if you have symptoms.
High quality masks (surgical masks, N95, KN95, etc) are still required inside our facility in all patient care areas. These must cover the mouth and nose at all times.
There are high levels of Covid, Influenza and RSV in the US at this time, and so we recommend that patients and families scheduled for surgery take appropriate precautions, including isolation as needed, before traveling here to minimize the risk of contracting one of these viruses and having the surgery postponed for 4-6 weeks or longer.
We continue to monitor developments and adjust our protocols according to the best available evidence. Our staff can answer questions you might have. The overall goal is to minimize risk of exposure to these infections for everyone - patients, families, staff, and the surgeons.
Thank you for your understanding and your cooperation!
