In this article in the British Journal of Urology International (BJUI), Dr. Snodgrass details the equipment needed to perform TIP repair. It has accompanying illustrations of the TIP (Snodgrass) technique. Read publication here.
Snodgrass technique for hypospadias repair
Initial experience with staged buccal graft (Bracka) hypospadias reoperations.
Dr. Snodgrass reports results using the Bracka hypospadias repair. Since then, several modifications have been made in order to develop the STAG technique, which is what we currently use at PARC Hypospadias Center. Read publication here.
Effect of Urethral Plate Characteristics on Tubularized Incised Plate Urethroplasty
Many people believe that TIP repair can only be used in select patients with distal hypospadias. This article shows TIP can be used in patients with distal hypospadias regardless of the size and characteristics of the head of the penis. However, it should not be used in patients with penile curvature that persists after release… Read More »
TUBULARIZED INCISED PLATE HYPOSPADIAS REOPERATION
TIP (Snodgrass) repair can be used in patients with distal hypospadias who need reoperation as long as the penis is straight and tissues are healthy. It is most commonly used in patients who have glans dehiscence. This is where the head of the penis opens up after surgery – usually 2 weeks afterwards. Rates of… Read More »
A new algorithm for primary hypospadias repair based on tip urethroplasty.
As early as 2003, Dr. Snodgrass realized penile curvature (chordee) was the most important factor in hypospadias repair. Patients with less than 30 degrees curvature can have TIP repair. Those with more than 30 degrees of curvature after release of tethering skin tissues undergo STAG repair. Read publication here.
