Hypospadias Surgery Email Follow Up
Insurance Coverage For Hypospadias Surgery
Once you have had a chance to exchange emails with the doctor and your medical questions are answered, our Practice Manager, Whitney, will reach out to you with next steps. If you have insurance, we can contact your plan to find out what is covered, as well as work on getting you an out of pocket estimate of your patient responsibility for both surgical services and facility fees. If you do not have insurance, we will be happy to send you a private pay quote instead. Please know that everything up until this point is completely free for you – we do not bill your insurance or you for these services. We want to make sure you are getting accurate information from hypospadias experts.
Telemedicine Consultation
If after all of this you still feel uneasy and would like more information from the doctor, you can speak face to face via telemedicine video consultations or over the phone – these services require a fee. If you wish to schedule a telemedicine consultation, Chaney will be happy to arrange this. We can check and see if telemedicine care is covered by your insurance. If it is not, we will get you the private pay rate. Then, you will receive an email with a password and a link. If you have any questions or concerns about this process, Chaney will be happy to discuss those with you.
Preoperative and Postoperative Recommendations
If the doctor recommended any pre-op and/or post-op medical treatments (such as HBOT, steroid treatments, etc), I (Bri), will be happy to assist in getting those set up. I will also discuss any other medical concerns with you at that time as well so that you feel extremely comfortable with your son and his surgery. If you decide you would like to move forward with hypospadias surgery, you can discuss dates with our office and arrange for a pre-operative consultation with surgery the very next day. We do this to limit the burden of travel for your family as well as reduce the stress for your child having hypospadias surgery.
